The variety belongs to the category of spray chrysanthemums. There are color variations of this variety known as White Stafour and Stafour Yellow.

In industrial floriculture, the variety was in demand for export markets. In the scientific community, Stafour was used as a model object for studying plant response to soil salinity and for developing diagnostic methods for the detection of Chrysanthemum virus B.
