The variety belongs to the escarole type and is characterized by the formation of large, heavy heads with abundant, tender leaves that have a characteristic bitter taste. The maturity period is about 50 days.

The plant has the ability to self-blanch when planted densely; however, it is recommended to perform additional blanching by tying or covering the heads a week before harvest to reduce bitterness.

The variety is vigorous and hardy, showing relative resistance to bolting, which allows it to be used for spring plantings, and it is able to withstand light frosts. It may be susceptible to tip burn under adverse conditions.

Used as a salad crop for fresh consumption, as well as in cooking, including stewing and frying.
