The Citre or Gigérine variety is a trailing, heat-loving plant. Its fruits reach 30-40 cm in diameter and weigh from 3 to 8 kg. The rind color is light green with grayish-green stripes.

The fruit flesh is pale green or whitish-green, quite dense, and lacks the sweetness characteristic of table varieties. The seeds have a specific red hue. The variety is non-hybrid and belongs to the category of traditional landrace crops.
