Cometa F1 is a personal-sized hybrid with round or oval-shaped fruits, having dark green rind with light stripes. 4–5 marketable fruits set on one plant. When growing, the use of grafting onto vigorous rootstocks is recommended.

The watermelon flesh is dark red, crisp, with a sugar content of 12–13% on the Brix scale. The hybrid possesses intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt (races 0, 1) and anthracnose (race 1). Intended for fresh consumption.
