Variety description

In natural conditions, it is a shrub or tree from 3 to 12 meters tall with thorny branches. The leaves are glossy, dark green, consist of two segments, and possess an intense aroma due to the high content of essential oils. The flowers are small, white or pinkish-white, and fragrant.
The fruits are round or pear-shaped and reach 5–7 cm in diameter. Their peel is very bumpy, dark green, turning yellow upon ripening, and the pulp is characterized by high acidity and low juice content. The main economic use is found in the plant's zest and leaves.
The species is thermophilic and tropical, requiring protection from wind and bright, diffused light. The plant is able to withstand short-term temperature drops down to -5°C, however, optimal conditions for it are close to tropical. The plant is not a bred variety, but a species that has existed in cultivation for a long time.
