Variety description

The plant forms a vigorously growing bush with large arrowhead-shaped leaves. Young leaves have a dark olive hue, which quickly changes to a dark purple-black color. The leaf petioles are colored in a purple-burgundy shade, and light green veins stand out on the underside of the leaf blades.

The variety is intended exclusively for landscape design and container cultivation. It possesses increased cold hardiness compared to wild species, withstanding USDA zones 7b–10, and is resistant to humidity. Like other Colocasias, all parts of the plant contain calcium oxalate crystals.
