The Peach Melba variety reaches a height of 70–90 cm and has upright bright green leaves. Flowering occurs abundantly from mid to late summer. Dark arched peduncles make the plant suitable for use in landscape design and as a cut flower crop.
The plant is undemanding, moderately drought-tolerant once established, and possesses resistance to damage by deer and rabbits. In temperate climate regions, corms require lifting for the winter or reliable covering, as the species' frost resistance is limited.
