The Autumn Gold variety is a perennial reaching up to 0.9 m in height with sword-shaped leaves and dark flower stalks. The funnel-shaped flowers are orange-red with a yellow throat and are gathered in paniculate inflorescences. The flowering period occurs from mid-summer to mid-autumn.
The Pink Wonder variety is distinguished by a petal color unusual for Crocosmia: pink with a warm orange center. Plants of this species prefer well-drained fertile soils, sunny areas, or partial shade. In regions with cold climates, winter protection is recommended.
Plants of the Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora group are the result of artificial hybridization of the species Crocosmia aurea and Crocosmia pottsii. They are used for borders, flower beds, and group plantings, and are also suitable for cut flowers. Tall varieties may require support.
