Variety description

The plant reaches 1.5 meters in height in 10 years, and at maturity grows up to 2.5–3 meters with a crown width of about 1 meter. Annual growth is 5–10 cm. The variety likely originated as a mutation.
The needles and branches have a characteristic twisted shape. The needle color becomes more intense when planted in sunny areas. The plant prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic or neutral soils and requires protection from cold drying winds.
The variety is ornamental, suitable for use as a solitary plant, in rock gardens, and in containers. Winter hardiness is estimated within -15°C...-20°C (RHS classification H7); high resistance to diseases and pests is noted.
