The melon variety Escrito is characterized by a growing period from planting to harvest of approximately 79 days under the conditions of South-West France. In the framework of agrotechnical and breeding trials, the variety demonstrated intermediate resistance to certain disease races.

In scientific literature, the variety is considered as an object for metabolomic analysis of flavor characteristics and aroma. It should be noted that the name Escrito may also refer to Spanish local landrace varieties, which are genetically distinct from this commercial variety.
