The Galapago melon is a first-generation hybrid (F1) belonging to the Galia type. The plant is noted for its very compact size, as determined during conducted agronomic trials.
The melon fruits are round, reaching approximately 13 cm in length and 14 cm in width. The interior of the fruit is characterized by a crisp texture and a distinct green flesh color. The sugar content in the fruits is 10% on the Brix scale.
The variety belongs to the mid-season category. During the fruit ripening process, a tendency towards the development of rotting processes was noted. Information regarding specific disease resistance of the variety is absent in available materials.
