Gulfstream is a vining plant belonging to the cantaloupe type. The fruits have a round shape, are covered with netting, and reach a weight of 0.9 to 1.4 kg. The fruit flesh is orange in color, and the variety's aroma is characterized as moderately pronounced.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew, as well as to melon aphids. The variety is an important source of the recessive nsv gene, which provides resistance to Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV). Adapted to conditions in the southeastern United States.
