The variety is classified as early or mid-early with a maturity period of 70 to 90 days. The plant vines reach a length of 1.2–1.5 m. The variety can be grown on trellises, but it does not possess the high resistance to diseases and pests characteristic of modern hybrids.
The fruits are small, weighing 0.4–0.9 kg, and have a spherical, often flattened shape with a characteristic protrusion or "turban" at the bottom. The rind is ribbed and covered with netting, changing color from green to yellowish-brown or orange-brown upon ripening. The flesh is light green, juicy, and soft.
