The Royal F1 hybrid is a mid-late melon with a vegetation period of 85–90 days. The fruits are characterized by an elongated-oval shape, yellow skin color, and green flesh. The average weight of the fruit is 4–6 kg.
The fruits possess good transportability and resistance to cracking. The hybrid is intended for cultivation in open and protected ground; it is used both for the fresh market and for long-term storage. Harvesting is carried out manually.
There are mentions of a Galia-type hybrid named Royal, which is early, has a netted skin structure, green flesh, and resistance to a number of diseases, including Fusarium and powdery mildew.
