The Thrakiotiko variety belongs to the Inodorus winter melon group. Fruits are medium to large in size, with a round shape and a characteristic narrowing at the stem. The rind is smooth or slightly wrinkled, yellow in color, sometimes with dark spots or stripes.
The flesh is juicy, white or orange, with an aroma and a moderately sweet taste with honey or floral notes. Breeding lines of the variety demonstrate high resistance to Fusarium wilt and are used as rootstocks to improve the fruit quality of other varieties.
