The variety belongs to the slicing types and is intended for fresh consumption. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and high yield; fruits have a medium-green color and are characterized by good quality indicators during storage.
In the mid-20th century, Cubit was widely used in breeding as a parental line for creating new varieties, such as Palmetto and Ashley. The variety possesses relative resistance to Meloidogyne hapla, although for a number of other diseases it required improvement of characteristics through crossbreeding.
