The plant has an indeterminate growth type. Female flowers are usually formed one or two per node. The leaves are dark green or very dark green in color, with a pronounced blistered surface and medium or strongly serrated edges.

Fruits at the stage of consumer maturity are classified as short or very short. They are densely covered with spines, have an acute base and a rounded end on the calyx side. A characteristic white pattern is present on the surface of young fruits.
