The variety belongs to the gherkin group. The harvest period falls in July–October. The plants are vining; it is recommended to guide the vines alternately in different directions at the beginning of summer.

The fruits are small, intended primarily for processing, in particular, pickling in vinegar. The variety is historical; mentions of it are found in seed catalogs from the late 19th – early 20th century.
