Monstanto Vegetable, NL
10 August 2026
The variety is an heirloom and belongs to the open-pollinated category. The plant is vining, vigorous, and fast-growing, suitable for cultivation both on trellises and on the ground. The ripening period of the fruits is from 50 to 60 days after emergence.
Fruits are cylindrical in shape, slightly tapering at the ends, large-tubercled, dark green with black spines. Fruit size varies from 6 to 12 cm. The flesh is dense, crispy, and sweet, without bitterness, which makes the variety optimal for marinating and pickling.
The variety possesses resistance to scab and tobacco mosaic virus. Requires the participation of pollinating insects, which must be taken into account when placing in protected cultivation.
