The variety is insect-pollinated and belongs to the category of heirloom varieties. The period from germination to the beginning of harvest is 40–50 days. Plants can be grown either on the ground or vertically, reaching a length of 1–3 m.

Gherkin-type fruits have a weight of 80–90 g and a length of 7–9 cm, sometimes up to 10 cm. The surface is dark green, densely tubercular, with black spines; the shape is elongated-cylindrical. The flesh is firm and crunchy.

The variety name translates as "foothill grapes" due to the specific trait of setting fruits in clusters resembling bunches. The variety is of universal purpose, suitable for fresh consumption and pickling.
