The variety is an open-pollinated heirloom, cultivated since 1893. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and vining habit, suitable for cultivation in open field and greenhouses, both on trellises and trailing. The variety shows endurance and heat tolerance.

The fruits have an oval or elongated shape, reaching a length of 15–25 cm. As they mature, the skin acquires an ivory color; young cucumbers can be light green. The flesh is distinguished by a mild taste with citrus notes. To maintain fruit quality, regular harvesting before overripening is recommended.
