The variety is used in breeding programs as rootstock material for grafting other cucurbits, in particular cucumber, to increase their resistance to soil pathogens. It is also used in experimental crosses, for example with Cucurbita maxima, and is included in vegetable crop genetic resource collections.
During studies on tolerance to water deficit at the seedling stage, the variety was characterized as sensitive to drought. Information on the maturity group, fruit characteristics, or an official description of the variety as an economic crop is absent in open publications.
