The variety is a bush form characterized by an upright or semi-upright position of the leaf petioles and a very low degree of branching. Due to its compact shape, the plant is not prone to the lodging characteristic of vining species.

The variety is traditionally used as a vegetable crop for harvesting young fruits. In 19th-century agronomic literature, it was mentioned as an early-maturing variety; in modern conditions, it is of interest primarily as an object of genetic diversity of the species.
