The plant has a highly branched vining habit. The fruits are round in shape with a diameter of about 25 cm and a weight of 2 to 5 kg; they change color from green at the beginning of ripening to ocher-yellow with broad green stripes at full maturity. The growing period is 90–100 days.
The primary value of the variety is its dark green hulless seeds, which possess a nutty flavor. The fruit pulp does not have high culinary qualities, so the variety is grown exclusively for seed harvesting and oil production, rather than for consumption as a vegetable.
