Plants are compact, suitable for open field and containers. The fruits have a strongly ribbed shape, which in cross-section looks like a star. The skin color is green, with light stripes or speckles present.

The variety is a traditional Italian landrace belonging to the Cocozelle group. The fruits are versatile in cooking, used fresh, for grilling, baking, and canning, as well as for harvesting along with the large fleshy flower.
