The multi-stemmed shrub reaches a height of 0.5 to 1 meter. A characteristic feature is the flattened blue-green leaves. Flowering occurs in the autumn-winter period; the white or cream-colored flowers are gathered in discoid inflorescences and lack ray florets.
The plant is drought-tolerant and requires well-drained soil. It is used for ornamental purposes as an indoor or landscape crop in regions with climatic zones 9a–11b. It is propagated by cuttings.
