The Rožnovská variety is a loosely tufted grass with narrow leaves 2–4 mm wide. During the flowering period in mid-June, generative shoots reach a height of about 30 cm.
The plant is not intended for intensive farming. It is used primarily in regional and wildflower grass mixtures for strengthening water banks, creating buffer zones, and greening areas with low soil fertility.
The species is considered moderately long-lived and is gradually displaced from regularly mown grass stands if conditions for self-seeding renewal are not provided. The variety is valued for its adaptation to the natural conditions of foothill regions.
