The variety «Barunka» is a subject of breeding and laboratory work within the programs of the Research Institute for Landscape and Ornamental Gardening in Průhonice.
The plant was used in phytopathological studies, particularly for the study of viral diseases such as Dahlia mosaic virus, with the goal of obtaining virus-free planting material. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as height or resistance, are not detailed in open publications.
