The Purple Fox variety belongs to the ball dahlia group. The plant produces double flowers of a lilac-purple shade with a diameter of 8–10 cm. The height of the bush is usually from 60 to 120 cm.

Flowering occurs in the period from July to October. The plant is used for decorating flower beds, growing in containers, and for cutting. The variety does not overwinter in open field conditions, stems require support to prevent lodging.
