The name refers to produce grown in the specific soil and climatic conditions of the drained Fucino lake basin at an altitude of approximately 700 meters. Various modern hybrids and varieties that meet strict quality and safety standards are grown under this brand.
The produce must have a cylindrical shape with a rounded tip, absence of root hairs, and an intense orange color, including the crown of the root. The flesh is characterized by a crunchy texture and established minimum levels of sucrose, beta-carotene, ascorbic acid, proteins, and fiber.
Carrots meeting IGP standards are used both for fresh consumption and for processing into purees and juices.
