The variety belongs to the Nantes-type and has a growing season of 90–100 to 100–115 days. The root crops are distinguished by an even cylindrical shape with a blunt or rounded tip, their length is 15–22 cm, and the weight varies from 90 to 200 g. The color of the surface and flesh is bright orange or red-orange.
The flesh is characterized by juiciness, tenderness, a sweet taste, and an increased carotene content with a small core. The variety is resistant to cracking, bolting, and major diseases. It is universal in use: suitable for fresh consumption, canning, and long-term winter storage.
The names «Nantesa 5», «Nantes 5», «Нантская 5» and «Монанта» (Monanta) are considered synonyms.
