The Aicardi variety is a standard greenhouse carnation intended for cut flower production. The plant belongs to early-maturing varieties and is characterized by rapid flower bud formation and opening.

The flowers of the variety have a large diameter and high vase life. The plant is distinguished by the red color of its petals and is used as a reference sample for DUS (distinctness, uniformity, and stability) testing.
