The Hilbacer variety, also known under the commercial name Barbara, is a spray carnation for cut flower production. The plant has a vigorous growth habit, strong tillering ability, early flowering maturity, and high productivity.
The flowers of the variety have a distinct dark cherry color. Due to its stable characteristics, the variety often serves as a reference variety for Distinctness, Uniformity, and Stability (DUS) testing within UPOV standards.
