The Dianthus Sunflor Sofia (or Hilsofia) variety is a compact plant 10–20 cm tall with glaucous-green foliage. The flowers can be double or semi-double, ranging from white and red to bicolored pink with a white margin. The plant is intended for pot culture, borders, and rock gardens, blooms from spring to autumn, and withstands temperatures down to -5...-10 °C.

The Sofia mini-carnation of Bulgarian breeding is characterized by fuchsia-colored flowers approximately 2.8 cm in diameter. The flowers of this variety are clustered in bouquet-like inflorescences of 15 per flower stalk and have a faint fragrance.
