The Diaspetis variety is an ornamental plant that has been used as parental material in crossing to obtain other varieties, in particular Flying Colors Red Improved (Diastured).
In official breeding documentation, the variety is often referred to as a reference sample for assessing morphological traits, including flower shape and the structure of the lower corolla lobe.
