The plant forms compact bushes up to 15 cm in height and up to 50 cm in spread. The stems are short and wiry; leaves are oval-shaped and dark green in color.
The bright pink flowers are gathered in loose raceme-like inflorescences. The flowering period lasts from early summer until autumn.
The variety is a semi-trailing perennial; in temperate climates, it is grown as an annual. It prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils, including loamy, sandy, and calcareous soils.
