The plant has an upright habit and grows to 30–40 cm in indoor conditions. The leaves have an elongated shape, a glossy surface, an acuminate tip, and a wavy margin.

The variety is used as an ornamental foliage potted plant. It is relatively easy to care for, tolerant to various lighting conditions, including partial shade, and requires moderate watering combined with a well-drained substrate.

The plant is toxic. The variety has also been used in scientific studies on the effect of growth regulators, such as paclobutrazol, on leaf formation and coloration.
