The plant forms dense clumps of narrow grassy leaves. Thin flower stalks arch under the weight of bell-shaped flowers of a lilac-blue shade unique to the crop. The height of an adult plant is about 1 meter.
Flowering occurs in July-August. The variety is vigorous in growth and is considered conditionally winter hardy, requiring protection in cold climates. The plant prefers sunny locations with well-drained soil; it tolerates water stagnation and dampness poorly.
