The Rock Ad variety belongs to the species Diplotaxis tenuifolia and was bred by mutagenesis of a commercial cultivar using ethyl methanesulfonate. It is focused on the production of high-quality salad greens and is intended for markets requiring long-term preservation of leaf freshness.
Key features of the variety include delayed flowering compared to the parent forms and the formation of a more developed leaf rosette (up to 18–20 leaves) by the time of the transition to the flowering phase. Thanks to improved post-harvest keeping quality, the leaves of the variety age more slowly after harvesting.
