The plant is a succulent epiphytic subshrub with profusely branching stems. The secondary shoot segments are flat, succulent, deeply lobed, 20–30 cm long and 3–8 cm wide.

The flowers are nocturnal, large, reaching 6–20 cm in length. The petal color varies from pale yellow to greenish or pinkish. The crop is used exclusively for ornamental purposes as a potted or hanging plant.
