Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant originates from the tropical forests of Mexico and is an epiphytic cactus with flat, fleshy stems deeply incised at the edges, which gives them a zigzag or fishbone shape. The stem length in indoor conditions is 60–100 cm, rarely reaching 1.2–3 m when provided with support.

Flowering is accompanied by the formation of large, nocturnal, fragrant flowers 6 to 20 cm in length. The fruits are edible and resemble gooseberries or a mix of strawberry and pineapple in flavor, although they have no commercial value.

The plant is sensitive to waterlogging, which causes root system decay, and is used exclusively in ornamental floriculture.
