The variety is a hybrid of Distylium myricoides × Distylium racemosum. The plant possesses a compact, spreading habit with a cascading branch structure, reaching a height and width of 90–120 cm. Narrow lanceolate leaves have a bronze-purple hue upon emergence, eventually turning matte blue-green.
Flowering occurs in late winter or early spring, when small reddish-maroon flowers appear. The variety is characterized by high resistance to pests and diseases, and tolerates drought and heat well. Recommended for USDA hardiness zones 6b–9, withstanding frosts down to –20 °C.
The shrub does not require mandatory formative pruning due to its dense structure. It is used in landscape design for creating hedges, borders, mass plantings, as a groundcover plant, or for cultivation in containers.
