The plant forms dense rosette structures, which at maturity can form clusters of daughter rosettes. The size of a single rosette is 13 to 20 cm in diameter. The leaves are fleshy, pointed at the ends, green in color with a characteristic red margin along the edges.

During the flowering period, the plant produces flower stalks with bright yellow flowers. The crop is not winter-hardy; it requires good drainage, bright lighting, and moderate watering without allowing moisture directly into the rosette. It is used as an ornamental indoor plant for container gardening.
