The variety belongs to the group of double-flowered Echinacea. In a number of catalogs, the plant is classified as Echinacea tennesseensis "Dixie Belle". Due to a mutation where petals replace other parts of the flower, the variety has a limited ability to produce pollen and nectar, which reduces its attractiveness to insect pollinators.

The plant is intended exclusively for ornamental gardening. Like other Echinacea varieties, this variety can be susceptible to diseases such as aster yellows and various types of leaf spot.
