Variety description

10 August 2026

The Blue Pearl variety is a rare cultivar of Echinops banaticus. The plant reaches 1–1.5 meters in height, with flowering lasting from mid-summer to autumn. A distinctive feature of the variety is its inflorescences, which have the lightest powder-blue shade among the species.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness and durability (RHS H7 scale, USDA 3a–8b). In landscape design, it is used as an architectural element for flower beds, attracting bees and butterflies. In publications, the variety is mentioned as an old and rarely encountered cultivar.
