The variety is a selection clone of an interspecific hybrid, intended for use in short-rotation forestry systems for biomass production. It also possesses potential for phytoremediation, specifically for the removal of heavy metals such as cadmium from soil and water.
The clone is characterized by high productivity in Mediterranean conditions and exceeds the growth performance of the pure species E. camaldulensis. It was selected for resistance to cortical canker caused by Teratosphaeria zuluensis. In industrial plantations, a planting density of 1100 to 5500 plants per hectare is recommended with harvest cycles every 2–3 years.
