The plant is an upright bushy perennial. The leaves are lanceolate, grey-green with a cream margin in spring and summer. The flowering period occurs in May-June, when yellow-green flowers bloom, surrounded by yellow bracts.
The variety is winter hardy and low-maintenance, suitable for growing in both sun and partial shade, including dry areas under trees. It is used primarily for decorative purposes for edging or as a groundcover plant.
All parts of the plant contain milky sap, which is toxic and can cause irritation upon contact with skin.
