The plant has a compact habit and reaches a height of 20–40 cm. The leaves are colored in brown-red tones and remain decorative in winter. The flowering period occurs in March and April, the flowers have a greenish-yellow hue.
The cultivar prefers semi-shaded locations and moderately moist soils. The plant contains milky sap that causes skin irritation.
