The Vinjar variety is characterized as a northern type of meadow fescue, adapted to the conditions of Northern Norway and the mountainous regions of the south of the country. The plant possesses a high capacity for overwintering and good survival rates in northern climatic conditions, and also exhibits resistance during dry periods.
This variety is valued for its stable yield and active generative capacity (regrowth). Vinjar has found wide application in forage production, being among the recommended varieties for establishing efficient hayfields and pastures.
