The Triana variety is used primarily as a component of grass mixtures for ornamental, general-purpose, and semi-professional lawns. The plant is capable of developing under limited maintenance, does not require intensive nitrogen fertilization, and exhibits drought tolerance.
In comparative trials, the variety demonstrates turf density and visual appeal indices below the level of a number of modern varieties. Reduced resistance to red thread is also noted.
